Canoe Cove haulout
20240917 – We woke up on the boat and finished preparing her for the haulout at 1030. We had already removed the speed/depth log and closed most of the through hulls yesterday. Today we just unplugged and turned off the shore power.
The haulout of Antoinette went smoothly and on time. The guys from Blackline pulled Antoinette around stern first into the Travel Lift slip then hauled her out of the water. They pressure washed the bottom of a little growth then put her in the yard on blocks.
We left to pick up our rental car at the Victoria Airport YYJ then checked into our first Air BnB in the afternoon, so we were not around for the blocking etc, but Blackline knew just what they were doing. When we drove back to the yard the boat was blocked, a ladder was up and Mike the Raven mechanic was already at work.
We got us and the Michin moved into the first Air BnB then went into Sidney where we ate breakfast at a coffee shop, went to an art gallery and bought a book, got some baked goods across the street then provisioned at a grocery store nearby.
After all that we were worn out so we went back to the Air BnB and relaxed for the rest of the afternoon.
