The North Pacific

28 June - The great North Pacific Ocean has finally conformed to its own stereotype: steely gray, huge waves, cold and relatively stormy. This confirms why I wanted to make this crossing in the summer. I cannot begin to imagine making this crossing in wintertime.

We all really enjoy and take advantage of our “off watch” time since at any moment there could be an “All Hands On Deck” call, meaning no more “off” to the “off watch”.
