Isla Coronados-Caleta San Juanico

27 April 2022 – We got up, weighed anchor and got under way by 0800 headed from Islas Coronados up to Caleta San Juanico, a distance of about 18 NM, a fairly easy day. Unfortunately, the wind never really came up enough for us to sail so we motored the whole way, under the iron genoa.

Islas Coronados astern, headed for San Juanico

We anchored at San Juanico among a profusion of other boats (S/V “Phoenix 1”, S/V JASDIP”, SV Kopai, S/V “Penelope” and S/V “Arpata” among six or seven others.

San Juanico was a lovely and popular anchorage, well protected with some high dollar houses up on the hills to the north. We spent several days anchored here inflated the dinghy and went ashore to hike and snorkel several times. Once we walked over the hill north to Caleta La Ramada, a nice, small, south wind anchorage.
