Posada Concepcion-Playa Burro

5 May 2022 - Cheryl and Neil said they planned to move down to Playa Burro, just around the point about a mile from Posada Concepcion, so as to be closer to the tiendas and restaurants on the beach there, and to see something a bit different, and they invited us to go with them. This morning, we got up early, had some breakfast then took the dinghy to the beach at Santispac and got some more water at Ana’s restaurant and searched (unsuccessfully) for Jimena’s sun glasses.

We passed back by “Phoenix 1” on our way back to our boat. Cheryl gave Jimena a nice pair of sunglasses and they gave us 5 gallons of fresh water from their water maker. Again. Never a better gift than fresh water for cruisers without water makers.

We went back to our boat, dumped the water in our tank, then fired up the engine, pulled up the anchor and at 1100 we followed “Phoenix 1” out of Posada Concepcion and down to Playa Burro.

Following S/V Phoenix 1 from Posada Concepcion to Playa Burro

An hour after we departed Posada Concepcion, we were anchored in 35 feet of water in front of Playa Burro, a beautiful anchorage. We went ashore and walked on the beach then went back to the boat.

That evening we went ashore and met Cheryl and Neil for the walk across the highway to J.C.’s restaurant and the birthday fiesta of Miguelito, Captain of S/V “Liahona”. The drinks were good, the company was good, the music was good. Just a good time all round.

By the time we headed back it was getting dark. Somehow I had broken the shear pin on our electric motor…again. Neil and Cheryl were watching out for us; he came out in his dinghy with the gas outboard, got us and towed us back to our boat. One just could not ask for better friends.
