The Crew’s Day

8 June - We have swapped our crew and today is Henry’s day so we went for a hike out on Ka’ena Point, the northwesternmost point of the island of Oahu and one which we will see again in passing, hopefully soon.

Laysan’s Albatross chick on Ka’Ena Point

It was a great hike, relatively easy down a road and out to the ocean. There is a day mark for marine navigation on the point which we will pass again if we shape our course west-around. We saw marine tidal pools and Laysan’s albatross chicks just nesting on the ground. Then we drove south along the windward shore to Kaneohe Bay and crossed the island again on the Pali Highway back to Honolulu.
