Victoria BC

20240918 – Today we drove into Sidney for some supplies, up to the Boatyard to make sure all was proceeding smoothly (Mike already had the shaft out and was replacing the cutless bearing), then we drove down to the big city of Victoria.

We drove downtown then walked around the grounds of the Provincial Parliament building and the waterfront. We saw the statue of Queen Victoria, the Totem Pole and the Steamship Terminal building.

After the downtown we went out to Beacon Hill Park, left the car there and walked out to the shore of the Strait of Juan de Fuca. We walked along the path down to Clover Point then watched a diver, kayakers, seals and ships coming and going. We could look across the Strait of Juan de Fuca and see the Olympic Mountains quite clearly.

Then we drove up to Esquimalt Bay but could not get into the park we were angling for so we ate lunch/dinner in the 4 Mile Brew Pub, a quaint and delicious knockoff of an English pub.

From there we went back to the house and were in bed by 2245 after some TV.
