Butchart Gardens

20240919 – We got up and had breakfast then drove over to the boatyard where we checked in on the work on Antoinette. I thought about installing a new VHF radio with remote mic in the cockpit but that was more of a project than worth it right now. The other thing was that Mike said the PYI dripless seal in the rudder post had about ¼” gap between the collar and the bellows, He suggested just closing up that gap versus replacing the seal to which we agreed.

From the boatyard we drove to the Butchart Gardens in Brentwood Bay on Tod Inlet where we spent the rest of the morning wandering through the fabulous gardens laid out at the beginning of the 20th century by cement magnate Robert Butchart and his wife Jennie.

We left the Gardens and went to the Fickle Fig farm, on the north side of the Victoria Airport, where we ate a wonderful lunch.

Then we drove back to the Air BnB where we had supper, watched some Netflix, then got in bed.
